So it's been almost a year. Apparently I'm just not that into blogging.
Well let's see. We got pregnant, got new jobs, moved, evacuated, traveled a LOT, and had a home birth. It was a busy year to say the least.
Living away from family has been an adjustment, but it has been good for our family. We've had no one to lean on but God and ourselves. I think we've needed that. But now I'm ready to move back home! Probably not gonna get my wish but I'm learning to live with the status quo.
The fires came close but no cigar! We were some of the lucky ones. Although the house and all our stuff smelled like a bar for several weeks. The drought out here was awful. It was either dry as a bone or drenching wet with scary wind. Extreme weather dominated until winter came, and then all was calm.
Since my Dad and brother live only 3 hours away we have traveled there frequently. Mostly with my arm wrenched behind me trying to keep one of two babies from screaming, sometimes both! My left arm can contort and stretch like no other part of my body. And, if I do say so myself, I am the master paci finder. Emma is a close second. The boys are hopeless.
It was quite a journey to the home birth decision. We are extremely happy we did it though and it was my favorite birth so far.
More later. Have to sleep now, hopefully.
